Linster Stacks Chips Next to Christian Harder
Mike Linster (Island Park, NY) continues his improbable run at a third trophy at the Borgata Winter Poker Open.
Linster has already bagged the Event 4 (Big Stack PLO) title for $28,225 and followed it up with a win in Event 10 (Black Chip Bounty) for another $38,081.
He's now the chip leader four handed and three spots away from a third title.
Only 6 players have ever one three Borgata titles, with Allen Kessler (Las Vegas, NV) the most recent addition yesterday joining Will Failla, Yuebin Guo, Howard Wolper, Bill Blanda and Chris Reslock.
But no player has ever won three events in the same series.
After winning his second title in four days Linster said, "I'm playing well, seeing all the hands, and am really focused right now."
That mojo hasn't changed and his play can be epitomized by a hand he played before he busted Matt Affleck (Seattle, WA) in fifth place.
On a board of 5♥ 7♥ 3♦ 3♥ 7♠, Linster called a 23k turn bet and then checked back on the river.
With no flush draw, Linster called the turn bet with king high and was good against Affleck's missed straight draw.
Linster is running good and playing better.
