$350 + $50 Deep Stack No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)
Congratulations to our Event 19 winner, Diana Shamshoum (Montreal, Canada) who just beat out Richard Finberg (Pittsburgh, PA) heads-up to take home $55,260 and the coveted Borgata trophy.
A key hand to victory came at the final table when Diana called with the nut-flush draw and hit her flush on the river. She took 2,000,000 chips off the chip leader Robert Midgette and never looked back.
"I really wanted that trophy" said Diana whose only been playing poker for 3 years thanks to training from husband George and brother Richard.
678 player entered the felt at noon and received a deep stack of 25,000 chips to work with. Those that busted had the option to Re-Enter (through level 8). As luck would have it, Diana and her husband were actually seated at the same table from the get-go. The prize pool exceeded the $100,000 Guarantee, as the top 63 players split the $237,300 prize pool.
Many familiar Borgata faces, including Gordon Eng, Howard Wolper, Steve Dannenmann, Alan Kraut, Andrew Interdonato, Gil Sacks, Christine Brewer, Roland Israelashvili (46th - $898) & Bill Brindise (23rd - $1,2660) battled it out in the Event Center.
Included in the field was WSOP bracelet winner Greg Ostrander, who played near perfect poker today only to flop a wheel and get flushed out on the turn. 12th Place for Ostrander earning $2,992.
The final table was set after Jim Governa busted in 11th Place. Jim's has been on quite a tear as he took 3rd the previous night in the Seniors event.
But once again our big winner and champion was our Canadian friend from the North, Diana Shashoum who won all 16,950,000 chips in play earning her $55,260, the trophy, and the Borgata Winter Poker Open Deep Stack No Limit Hold'em title.
