$450 + $50 Seven Card Stud
At the same time the LADIES were playing in their Borgata Winter Poker Open tournament, the STUDS were playing in theirs. Both finished in the Event Center around 2am.
While the girls stuck around to laugh and chat, the Studs took care of business then quickly ran out. Our winner, Alan Goodman did not want to talk about his win - must be a humble guy. I do know the final hand had his pair of tens holding up against Travis Williams hand. We also know he won the Borgata Winter Poer Open event 9 trophy, along with the $5,303 first place prize.
For those who love Stud, this was the tournament for you as 27 of the best took the felt vying for a slice of the $12,150 in prize money. Of course a few regulars played but went home hungry. Roland Israelashvili, Chris Reslock, Peter Ippolito, Glenn Engelbert, Matthew Stevens, Ylon Schwartz, and Bill Bumpereno Munely failed to cash. Munely won this event in September 2012 and another in 2011.
Also in the field was Yuebin Guo, who has three Borgata Poker Open titles. Yuebin won back-to-back events during
the 2012 Borgata Spring Poker Open (HORSE & Omaha Hi/Lo) in addition to the Omaha
Hi/Lo title from the 2011 BPO. And don't forget Stud and mix game specialist Miami John Cernuto.
But when the dust settled, today was a good day for Goodman. Alan takes home $5,303 and is currently King of the Studs, at least until the 2013 Borgata Spring Poker Open.
Final Table
1. Alan Goodman (Brooklyn, NY) - $5,303

3. Randy Tong (Brooklyn, NY) - $1,768
