Caruso Cashes in with Set of Jacks
While several players in the Poker Room are in the running for second place in the Day 1B chip counts, there are fireworks in the Event Center.
On the last hand of the night, Mike Caruso (Flourtown, PA) flops a set of jacks against a set of 8s for a huge pot.
Both players begin the hand with ~280k and Caruso was slightly covered. When the dust settles, Caruso finishes with 592k and earns a $2,000 bonus as the second highest Day 1B chip count.
Caruso's good fortune was disappointing to several players who are just shy of 500k.
Patrick Brown (Brooklyn, NY) bags 497k, while John Myung (Viena, VA) finishes with 484k as both just miss the bonus.
