Event 13: Paterson Pads Stack
$260 + $40 Deep Stack No Limit Holde'em (Re-Entry)
Seems like every time I passed by Bill Paterson (Pittsburgh, PA) he's had a healthy stack.
After felting Kim Findura he's now up to 1,700,000.
Bill drove 5 hours to Borgata from Pittsburgh but failed to pick up Josh Brikis even though he only lives 10 minutes away.
Josh and Bill are friends back home - If you're reading this Josh, Bill says hi and we miss you at the Winter Open.

Congratulations to Sonya Pickett who is the Event 13 Last Woman Standing.
It was a fight to the finish between Kim Findura (Butler, NJ) and Sonya who were at different tables.
Kim pushed with K-2 up against Bill Paterson's A-8. She turned a Broadway draw but the river gave Bill two pair.

Before she departed, Kim told Sonya to represent the women. "I'm gonna try honey - these men are brutal" said the very pleasant Pickett.
She's only been playing 6 months but is tutoring under Borgata WPT Champion Dwight Pilgrim. Sonya couldn't say enough nice things about Dwight and feels blessed that he is helping her.
"He talked me into coming to Borgata and really took me under his wing" said Sonya. During our visit she folded JJ pre after Opponent re-raised her.

Stu's JJ improves against AK on a board of 5-6-7-Q-J
Both players were all in pre. Stu is now at 3.2 million.
Pat departed saying, "If I win that I have close to 3 million." He swung for the fences and just came up short.
Pat puts $1,227 into his pocket for his 33rd Place finish at Borgata.
Meanwhile, Cody Custer is the other big stack in the room with 2.6 million.

Level 9 - Blinds: 400/800/ 75 ante
Mike Borovetz chatted with me for a bit and explained how he lost most of his chips in 4 hands:
1 - King high straight < Ace high straight
2 - AK < 99; All-In pre-flop. 99 holds.
3 - Flush draw and top pair on flop, loses by river
4 - Raise pre-flop with K10, gets 1 caller. Flop is 10 high. Borovetz' opponent check calls his bet. Turn is a J. His opponent checks again. Borovetz bets, and gets check-raised. By the river the cards are turned face up and his opponent shows KJ, and scoops the pot after catching his 3 outer/ top pair on the river.
Borovetz is now down to just 76,075...but still has plenty of chips left to contend with when play resumes tomorrow at 500/1K blinds, 100 ante.

The turn is the 2♥ and both players check. J♥ comes on the river and both check it down again.

Chan flops the nut flush to crack Affleck's pocket Aces and take down the pot.
