Ilias Kellikidis (Chicago, IL) flopped two pair while his Opponent flopped a set of Queens.  He didn't give up and just got some of his chips back.

Mike Borovetz (Pittsburgh, PA), already having a good Borgata Winter Poker Open, trying to improve upon his 8th Place finish from Event 1 for $35,481.  "That was the largest field I've ever played against" said Mike.  His second largest was 2500 players in a WSOP circuit event.

As for today, AA and AK held and Mike's feeling good where he's at and how he's playing, even calling for the win.  I like the confidence - if you can't bet on yourself and don't believe you're gonna win, you probably shouldn't be playing.

Shortly before the break, a big hand took place on table one.

Lana O'Brien (Englishtown, NJ) was all in on the river for 43,400.  Her opponent in seat 7 had her covered and checked into the tank for an extended stay.

The board showed 9 5 4 8 8 (no flush possible).

Eventually someone called for the clock and he folded before his time ran out.

Lana chipped up to ~110k, making her one of the big stacks in the room.

Poker, Poker, and More Poker

Even though the Event Center has been fairly quite today (compared to the six events going yesterday) with only one event running, that has just changed.

At 4pm the second event of the day began, which is a $250 + $30 Survivor NLH.  Approximately one of every ten players will win $2,500.

And if that's too rich for your bankroll, there's another option.  Starting at 7pm is a $100 + $20 + $20 Yellow Chip Bounty NLH re-entry tournament.

What better way to celebrate the Martin Luther King Jr Holiday than playing poker at Borgata!

Event 10: Registration Closing

Players are on a break following the end of level six.  They have until the end of this break to enter/re-enter.

Players with a short stack do NOT have the option to forfeit their chips to re-enter due to the bounty.  They'll just have stick with the short stack.

Event 10: Tough Table

Down to 29 tables remaining in action.  Players can still enter and re-enter through level six and the following break (about 3:30 pm).

Tanios Abi-Yaghi (Toms River, NJ) proved his mettle when he finished 2nd of 3,871 in the massive series openeer, cashing for over $209,000. 

Ryan Eriquezzo (Danbury, CT) cashed in that event, which was his first event after taking a hiatus from poker.  He won the WSOP National Championship and his first WSOP bracelet last summer.

Sharing the felt with them are Eli Loewenthal (Carmel, IN) and Jason Deutsch (Staten Island, NY).

Event 10: "You Cannot Have My Bounty"

Aaron Massey (far left, yawning) & Austen Johnson (far right)

Austen Johnson (Greensboro, NC) busted out and re-entered, landing at the same table with Aaron Massey (Elmwood Park, IL).

Aaron is still a little sleepy after winning event 6, $1k NLH, shortly after midnight, for $57,326.

Austen finshed 9th in the monster opener of this series, picking up $23,343.

When he arrived at the table, Austen told Aaron "You cannot have my bounty.  You absolutely cannot have by bounty."

These two accomplished poker pros sharing the felt will inevitably butt heads some time during play today.

Event 10: I ♥ Mixx

Patti Haggerty (Brigantine, NJ) is in today's field, and brought her "I ♥ Mixx" shades. 

Patti was profiled during the 2011 Borgata Winter Poker Open when she was the last woman sitting in the $170 No Limit Hold'em event. 

She went on to finish 15th out of 629 entries in that event.
